The Ten Mile Lake sailing season begins this Saturday (July 2) with the Fourth of July Race at 1:30 p.m.

Our annual kick-off party will begin at about 4:30 p.m. after the races, or whenever Lolly Brandt Hallberg shows up.

The following weekend, on Saturday, July 9, we’ll hold a special Wooden Boat Classic race to honor the godfather of our sailing club, Dick Garbisch, who turned 100 this year.

If you don’t still have a wooden C-boat, consider appearing on the course in a classic wooden runabout.

There aren’t many wooden C-boats left on the lake, so we’re not sure how many boats will come out. But it will be fun to try.

The Memorial Cup will be held July 23, the Moxness Cup on July 30, and the End of Summer regatta on Aug. 6.

As always, if there’s no wind or bad weather, we’ll reschedule the races for 10:30 a.m. on Sunday the following day.

Please check our website at for updates to the sailing schedule.

Hope to see you out on the water.
